Dell Inspiron 6000 Problem?

Ok So I got this used Dell Inspiron 6000 but it had some problems I put in the windows xp cd It erased everything and installed a fresh copy of Windows XP SP1 but now when the computer has no internet I have tryed all the things that I could try to get internet on it and it still does not work. I then downloaded all the computers drivers on a flash drive and a CD but when I try to download it on the computer it shows up as a Non-Writable File and it does not download anything. I dont have any CDS For this computer and I need it for Today at 6:30 PM with everything working. Can someone please help me? I got the Drivers from The Computers Website "Dell" and they downloaded as a Application Manifest but the computer can not download it and It appears as a Read Only Text File. Can Someone help me now?
