Do you usually meet the parents of your crush before you actually meet him/her?

it's been happening to me! too many times I've know the parents of the guy I'd like before getting to know him. to exemplify, one of them had a parent who threw a party and she invited me (since she thinks I'm interesting LOL). naturally, i attended. when i got there, I had to use the bathroom and the only available one was the one in my crush's room so he let me use it and it was surreal. like, it takes me forever to build a good enough relationship with someone to go to their house, let alone their room. and this just took a day. but it's like, if you know their parents first, you'll have an easier time getting close to the one you're interested in. I'm just confused on why parents seem more willing to get to know me first... I'm not Indian, so I don't think they're looking out for a potential wife for their son. What could it be? I'm only 16, so I'm not sure if I could relate to men and women 20+ years older than I am. Or perhaps I just tend to fall for sons of these parents? lol.. hmmm
