What does this poem mean?

It's means basically how her father was before he died, I ume he lived alone and was the one who cleaned and fixed his own house, he must have owned this house as it says his lease as ended, he was sick before he died and now walks in what he desired, the wind and nature. He's getting what he finally wants, without feeling bad about it, the fear of other feeling he doesn't deserve it maybe, he was very kind and good while alive, he never did anything to make himself feel lower in society, and that in the words of love he will always be cherished.
