Could not being on Pole be a new Strategy in F1?

I mean Fernando Alonso stuck in Q2, Vettel not posting a time in Q3 while other heavy hitters stayed in Q2, Kimi aside. Could they all be travelling really heavy for Sundays race, aiming to p in the pits. And is it me or is Pique seeming to severly suck, whats going on with him.
